Division One, Hartlepool FC 7, Stokesley SC 0: Hartlepool moved into fourth place due to this thumping of visitors Stokesley.
Steven Graham gave Hartlepool the lead in the 29th minute, Lee Haggan making it two. In the second half Hartlepool took a firm grip on the game in the 57th minute through Gary Moore. Further goals flowed with a first of the season from Kevin Auton in and Dave Clarke and a Neil Hay double.
SMG Redstripes 5, New Marske SC 2
Billingham SMG Redstripes secured their fourth win of the season against the bottom club New Marske, but despite taking a 3-0 lead were made to fight all the way up to the final whistle before securing the points. Shaun Taylor opened the scoring and the same player doubled their lead six minutes later. Steve White added a third. In the second half New Marske fought back and pulled it back to 3-1 when Steve Thompson scored and Lee Wells made it 3-2. But in the 78th minute SMG took a 4-2 lead when Taylor scored his hat-trick goal and then he added a fourth.
Thornaby FC 2, Richmond Town 1
Thornaby retain their lead at the top of the table, but only after withstanding the pressure of the visitors in the second half. In a game played in a very strong wind, Danny Jones gave the home side the lead. Three minutes later Michael Arif scored when he latched onto a Neil Preston through ball after missing a number of further good chances, Thornaby were made to pay when Richmond Town pulled it back to 2-1 three minutes before half time when Dave Jenkinson latched onto a Richard Thompson flick on to send his side in at half time only a goal behind.
Thornaby YC 4, Fishburn Park 1
Thornaby Youth Club moved to within two points of League leaders and local rivals Thornaby following this victory over Whitby side Fishburn Park. Chris Burton's cross was headed home by a Fishburn defender and then Youth Club took a 2-0 lead into the half time break when Darren Fixter beat two men on the right before firing into the far corner. Gareth Waite and Fixter made it 4-0 before Fishburn pulled a goal back in the dying minutes of the match through Duncan Marson.
Wolviston Res 2, BEADS FC 1
A Wolviston corner was taken quickly by Glen Walker who rolled out the ball to Andy Smith who fired home to make it 1-0. The match swung end to end but at half time the match was separated by the lone goal. In the second half the visitors pushed forward with the home side relying on the break, Paul Chamberlin went close for BEADS, but his shot hit the bottom of the post before being cleared up field to Andy Harris who raced clear of the BEADS defence before chipping the ball over Dave Birks in the BEADS goal. Michael Crowe grabbed a late consolation.
Division Two
Darlington Albion 1, Darlington CB 1
Darlington Albion entertained local rivals Darlington Cleveland Bridge with the Bridge winning 4-2, but in this match it was the Albion who took the lead, courtesy of an own goal by a Bridge defender. In the remaining period of the first half the match played in atrocious conditions swung end to end but at half time it still remained 1-0 to the home side. In the second half the visitors pressed forward with the wind at their back but it took them until three minutes before the final whistle when Nigel Clarke with his second of the season made it all square at 1-1.
Darlington RA R 2, Darlington SRM 0
Darlington RA Reserves got back into action after a two-week lay off following the tragic death of their player/manager and they recorded a hard-fought win. Deep into the second half Dean Lawson gave Darlington RA the lead and James Parkinson hit a fine solo effort after beating three defenders and placing the ball home.
Teesside Link 3, Whinney Banks 1
Thornaby side Teesside Link entertained Whinney Banks for the second league meeting of the season. The match was evenly contested for the opening twenty minutes before Steve Hill gave Teesside Link the lead. Whinney Banks struck back fifteen minutes later when Craig Owens scored. But In the second half the forced home the victory with goals from Paul Robinson and Robbie Shaw's sixth of the season.
