BUS passengers who use services between Harrogate and Ripon can look forward to a better service.
Harrogate Borough and North Yorkshire County Councils have confirmed they are to invest a total of £225,000 in Harrogate and District Travel's route 36.
The money will help pay for higher kerbs at bus stops to assist disabled passengers as well as electronic timetable information and bus shelters.
"The new facilities are vital if we are to keep up the bus usage on this route," said Harrogate Borough Council's public works cabinet member, Julian Sturdy.
"There is nothing worse than waiting on a cold, rainy November night, wondering whether you have missed the bus. The provision of electronic passenger information will make those miserable waits a thing of the past because passengers will know when the next bus is expected.
"This project is part of our continued effort to reduce road congestion by making buses an attractive alternative to motorists.''
Cash has also been invested in southern sections of the same route.
