THREE anglers were rescued as their fishing coble, the Ann Marie, started to sink just off Tynemouth pier yesterday.
Water bubbling up from a leak around the inspection hatch of the boat rose to knee-height as the fishermen radioed for help.
Tynemouth Lifeboat crew was called out and towed the boat into the safety of the harbour.
