HARTLEPOOL United boss Neale Cooper has returned north of the border to make his latest signing.
Cooper, who enjoyed an illustrious playing career with Aberdeen and Rangers and cut his managerial teeth with Ross County, has signed Scott Walker.
The former Alloa and St Mirren defender could make his debut at Tranmere tomorrow as Cooper seeks some defensive steel. Pool have leaked 24 goals away from Victoria Park, but sit comfortably in eighth spot.
Walker said: "Neale knows me from my time in Scotland - he's seen me playing in the Scottish Leagues.
"I see myself as an all-round defender, I'm strong, good in the air and I suppose I'm quite an aggressive player.''
Cooper admitted: "I tried to sign him in the summer, but he went to Dumfermline and I'm happy to get him now.''
Tranmere have picked up of late under Brian Little and won at Bolton in the FA Cup in midweek.
They secured victory in extra time and Little believes Pool will be looking to take advantage tomorrow.
The former Darlington manager said: "It was a long hard day for us on Tuesday.
"You would imagine Hartlepool looked at Tuesday night's extra time and will be looking to get at us this weekend.
"We have to be sure our preparation is right."
