A MAN has appeared in court to deny a kidnap charge.
Michael John Russett, 30, of Thorngate Wynd, Barnard Castle, County Durham, pleaded not guilty to kidnapping Kelly Patricia Williams on October 20 2003.
Mr Russett also denies assault occasioning actual bodily harm, making threats to kill and false imprisonment - charges all concerned with Ms Williams.
He also pleads not guilty to possession of cannabis, a controlled drug.
Mr Russett was granted bail by His Honour Judge Guy Whitburn, sitting at Teesside Crown Court, on condition that he resides at his home address, does not attempt to contact any prosecution witnesses, and does not enter The Avenue, Stainton Grove, Barnard Castle.
