In the league, Washington Oasis came up against Gateshead Black Bull on a heavy ground.
It did not seem to affect the Bull who took a two-goal lead, only for the Oasis to pull back a goal and then miss a penalty.
The Bull then had ample chances after the break to win the match but were hindered by bad finishing allowing the Oasis to draw level and steal a point.
Chris McGee got both the Bull's goals with Mark Wallis and Dean Robson on target for the Oasis.
Grange Villa WMC were made to work hard for their victory over Stanley Masons Arms SC, with two goals in the last five minutes to securing victory.
Marc Ward, Ian Pinchen (2) and Eugene Morgan scored for the Villa who ran out 4-2 winners with Ty Swann getting both goals for the Masons.
Pelton Fell WMC beat Felling Mulberry 4-1 to maintain their push for honours. Lee Hutchinson, Andy Cuthbertson, Stephen Mullholland, and Danny Bankhead netted for the Fell with Gary Harkness scoring for the Mulberry.
South Moor Sports took over top spot with an 6-1 win over Stanley RAFA - taking full advantage of Stanley Royal being on cup duty.
Stephen Green was magnificent with a four goal haul with the others scored by Michael Gray and Alan Mills while Paul Woodhouse scored for the RAFA.
In the Challenge Cup, Stanley Royal booked their semi-final showdown with the Oasis following a crushing 12-1 win over Low Fell Jolly Miller by 12-1
Goals from David Robson (4), Mark Drake (3), Mark Pattison (2), Gary Johnson, Kraig Wilkinson and David Turner did the damage for the Royal.
