THE achievements of students in Hartlepool will be celebrated at an award ceremony this month.
Hartlepool Borough Council's education department is organising the second Celebration of Success event as part of its Excellence in Cities initiative.
The ceremony will be at Hartlepool College of Further Education at 7pm on Friday.
Twenty-one awards will be presented to secondary school students and post-16 students to recognise outstanding achievements over the past year.
Guests of honour will be Hartlepool MP Peter Mandelson and ballet dancer Wayne Sleep. Television presenter Paul Frost will compere.
A spokesman said: "These awards not only acknowledge individual accomplishments, but also highlight the wonderful partnership of organisations behind the Excellence in Cities initiative."
