A 17-year-old has been charged with the murder of a mother whose body lay in her home for three weeks before being found.
Christine Longworth, 33, was found dead with multiple stab wounds at her home in William Street, Chopwell, Gateshead, on Tuesday last week. The mother-of-five had lived alone.
The teenager is due to appear before Gateshead magistrates today.
