A COUNCILLOR has received some unusual gifts which he hopes he can auction to raise money for his chosen charity.
Councillor Peter Porley, chairman of Middlesbrough Council, is hoping to raise money for The Prostate Cancer Ward at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
Young people from Fairbridge Teesside have made a steel Penny Farthing bike and a swan made from 3,000 used lottery tickets which will be among items to be auctioned at the annual Chairman's Charity Ball.
Fairbridge Teesside supports 13 to 25-year-olds who are not in education, training or employment or who have been identified as being at risk of dropping out.
Fairbridge aims to give them the motivation, confidence and skills they need to change their own lives.
