EMPLOYMENT advisors will be braving the winter weather dressed in Hawaiian shorts and sunglasses to help people find jobs for the summer.
The staff with Chester-le-Street's Action Team for Jobs will be setting up their stall in the town's Market Square on Friday when they will be on hand to give advice about getting back into work.
Recruitment for summer jobs traditionally begins this time of year. By summer, recruitment for Christmas vacancies begins.
The roadshow will run from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
Christine Archer, who is the jobs marketing manager for Chester-le-Street Action Team for Jobs, said: "The action team advisors are going to be out and about near Chester-le-Street Market Square to give advice and support for local people to find work.
"We'll also be able to talk to people about the extra help we can give to help them get back into work.
"Whether it's a bike or a bus pass to get there, or support until they get their first wage packet, there's not much we can't fund to break down the barriers that have stopped them working."
The staff have access to thousands of jobs from its databases and will be able to carry out in-work benefits assessments to show people how much better off they can be working.
Free winter survival kits, containing a woolly hat, ice-scraper and other items will be handed out to visitors on the day.
