A GROUP aimed at building communities through environmental action staged a host of activities at the weekend to highlight its projects.
The event at Chester-le-Street library, staged by Groundwork West Durham, including making Valentine cards out of natural materials, a nature quiz and making caterpillars.
Groundwork will also be running two activity sessions for eight-14-year- olds during the half-term break as part of the Exploring the Great Outdoors programme.
The sessions will be based in Hermitage School from 1pm until 3.30pm on Tuesday and Thursday and will include visits to Waldridge Millennium Green.
The theme is Spring into Action, and activities include nature crafts, games and environmental activities.
