ROCK band Alfie helped an independent record store celebrate its move.
The band were in the North-East for a concert at Newcastle University as part of their UK tour but played at Concepts, in North Road, Durham City, and signed autographs for fans.
"We were packed to the rafters,'' said assistant manager Rob Chalkley. "We have got the event on video."
The shop, owned by Dave Murray, has traded for several years at the Framwelgate Bridge entrance to the Milburngate Shopping Centre.
But with the centre's new owners planning a facelift, the shop's lease was not renewed.
Mr Chalkley said the new premises, near the city's Argos store, would enable the shop to keep a bigger stock. "We might move into the second hand market as well," he said.
