PARKING charges and road safety are top of the agenda at a county council committee meeting being held next week.

People living in the Harrogate area are being urged to attend the meeting to have their say on a range of issues.

They will also be able to ask questions about local services.

Councillor Jane Blayney, chairwoman of the North Yorkshire County Council area committee for the Harrogate district, said: "Decisions will be taken on applications from parishes for funding for road safety schemes. The committee must also decide whether to go ahead with a proposed one-way system at Spring Bank Road, Ripon, in the light of an objection which has been received."

Anyone wanting to speak at the meeting, which takes place from 9.30am on Thursday, at The Cairn Hotel, Harrogate, must contact Ruth Gladstone or Abbie Metcalfe by Monday on (01609) 780780.
