TRANSPORT Secretary Alistair Darling is in the North-East today.
He is opening the improved Gateshead Metro-Bus Interchange and will visit a security camera system in Stockton that is helping to cut crime on buses.
Mr Darling is expected to make an announcement about substantial funding for transport infrastructure improvements in County Durham.
