VOLUNTEERS who run their village pub are planning a St George's Day celebration.
The fun will start at the Rookhope Inn, in Weardale, on Friday at 7pm.
The Sound of the Bee Gees, featuring Robin Gibbs, is one of the highlights. There will be patriotic songs, a patron saints quiz and raffle.
Visitors are being encouraged to wear fancy dress, with St George as the theme.
The event is one of many that volunteers are holding to try to put the village on the map and attract tourists.
The Rookhope Inn had been closed for two years before villagers joined forces with North-East businesses to form the St Aidan's Trust and re-open the venue as a community pub.
It is run by volunteers and since it re-opened as a non-profit making venture it has attracted visitors from all over the region.
It is also used as a meeting place for young people in the village, and for adult learning classes.
