A MOTHER and her 15-year-old daughter are recovering after firefighters rescued them from their home.
Officers were called to a kitchen fire at their house in Westgate Avenue, Silksworth, Sunderland, at about 1am on Wednesday. The woman tried to extinguish the flames before the fire brigade arrived. The pair were treated for the effects of smoke.
