YOUNG musicians will join forces to raise money for a talking newspaper for the blind.
Ouston Junior School Choir and Chester-le-Street Salvation Army Young People's Brass Band will be in concert at the Salvation Army Hall in Low Chare, Chester-le-Street, on Saturday, May 22.
Proceeds will go to the County Durham Society for the Blind and Partially Sighted, based in Durham, which produces a talking newspaper that is read by more than 700 visually impaired people.
The society's volunteer co-ordinator, Sandra Hillyard, said: "Our talking newspaper is enjoyed by many people over the county.
"It enables them to hear local news, items of interest and maintain their enjoyment of newspapers even though they may not be able to actually see to read a paper copy. It's fantastic to see young people taking part in this fundraising event.''

The concert starts at 7pm. Tickets cost £10 and are available at the door.
