Thomas Raine was in splendid form leading Philadelphia to a match winning 136 for two in their game with Boldon at Bunker Hill.

The talented youngster hit three sixes and 12 boundaries carrying his bat for 93 before Boldon were reduced to 50 for five as Derek Steinberg, Mark Wilson and Michael Clark share the wickets.

Christopher Heselwood did even better than Raine as he remained undefeated with his excellent 101. the 13-year-old struck one six and 16 boundaries making his maiden century. David Martin ended unbeaten on 35 with three fours as Chester-le-Street realised 157 without loss at Horden who replied with 48 all out.

Darren Redfearn took two wickets for 16 runs in three overs, Kieron Waterson returned two for six, also from three overs while Stephen McTaggart, Kieron Sowden, Jack Taylor and Michael Eggleston were also among the wickets.

Scott Borthwick (34) and Liam Malaburn with an unbeaten 37 were prominent as Eppleton totalled 106 for one at Gateshead Fell who replied with 57 for seven. Chris Elliott carried his bat for 24 while Eppleton, Malaburn took two wickets for six runs and Borthwick two for four.

Durham City went down by six wickets at South Hetton who replied with 83 for four including 48 not out by Gary Ashcroft who hit one six and found the boundary line on five other occasions.

Chris Dorothy claimed four wickets for a meagre four runs in 4.2 overs and Chris Watson had three for eight in five overs and Marsden were all for just 27 in their local derby with South Shields. Shields won but not before they conceded five wickets, four of them to Andrew Raine for 16 runs in five overs.

Michael Turns top scored with 21 as Whitburn totaled 68 for five with Riddle claiming two for 22 for Hetton Lyons who responded with a match winning 69 for two which included 20 by Marshant.

At Felling, Sunderland won with 20 runs in hand. Batting first they reached 119 for three as Fenwick hit three boundaries out of 52 not out and McCann carried his bat for 33. Michael Lowther had three for 26 in five overs for Felling and he then scored 28 with one six and four boundaries. Christopher Lingard-Liss was the top scorer for Felling 38 but the innings only produced 99 for three
