THE team controlling North Yorkshire County Council's purse strings is celebrating after achieving Investors in People accreditation.
Led by John Moore, director of financial services, the team has won the award by demonstrating its commitment to enabling staff to fulfil their potential.
Financial services has 1,200 staff who deal with all the financial aspects of running the authority, from education and social services to pensions and risk management.
Executive member for corporate services, Carl Les, said: "This is a superb achievement, which is very well deserved."
Mr Moore said: "I'm pleased for, and proud of, the staff and managers who have all worked hard to demonstrate that our approach to staff training and support reaches the right standard.
