MUSIC by the Flying Emperors will get the 80th Bowes carnival under way next Friday when they perform in the village hall at 8pm.
A fancy dress parade and the crowning of the carnival queen take place the following day, with a theme of the Olympics. Activities including wellie-wanging and a fell race will be held on the Sunday.
In the evening, the Jilly Jarman Trio will play in St Giles Church.
