A NEW exhibition has opened at Seaton Holme in Easington Village.
A large selection of paintings by former painter and decorator Dawson Elliot, of Easington Colliery, will be on show until July 17.
It features watercolours, pastels and acrylics on subjects such as flowers, landscapes and animals.
Exhibitions officer Irene Haddock said: "There is a bit of something for everyone. He has got a very diverse collection of work."
Born in Cold Hesledon, in 1930, Mr Elliott served with the RAF for two years as part of his national service.
He has served his time as a painter and decorator, worked for Easington District Council and later Easington Colliery.
Mr Elliott also returned to Easington College, where he achieved an O-level and an A-level in fine art.
The free exhibition has been organised by Groundwork East Durham.
