A SEASIDE bridge has been given a new lease of life after suffering for years from the ravages of salt water.
The £60,000 facelift to the structure spanning Skelton Beck at the foot of Saltburn Bank, Saltburn, should ensure the bridge continues to carry traffic for many more years.
Essential maintenance work included putting a protective layer on the bridge's structure, repairs and repainting.
"This has been a first class piece of work on a very important structure for the town, significantly extending its life expectancy," said Coun Eric Empson, cabinet member for strategic planning with Redcar and Cleveland Council.
