The deciding doubles cost Willington Brewer's Droop a share of the top spot in the Second Division when they lost by the odd point at Stanley Earl Derby, who pulled off a spectacular recovery.

The Brewer's raced into a three-nil lead with wins from Jimmy Fleming, Tommy Liddle and Billy Wragg. However the Derby took the remaining three singles to level the match through Dave Wilson, Shaun Smurthwaite and Colin Armstrong. In the deciding doubles the Derby went to victory when Ken Walton and Colin Armstrong beat Vince Conaty and Billy Wragg.

In the First Division Crook Coach and Horses A edged through to a valuable win at Crook White Swan A in a match where both teams could have done with a big victory to save their current status. Lee Airey and Brian Wailes won singles for the Swan and then combined to take the doubles, whilst wins from Paul Fiddis, Brian Lee, Lee Scott and Ray Holliday took the Coach to victory.

Crook Queen's Head A and Crook Belle Vue share the top spot in the First Division with a three points lead over Crook Travellers Rest B, who are one ahead of Crook Coach and Horses B. Crook White Swan B moved one point ahead of Crook Spitfire Club and Willington Brewer's Droop in the Second Division. Crook Queen's Head B are a further point adrift.
