Several games were cancelled because of the weather and in division three only three started, writes Malcolm Pratt.

Rockliffe Park managed to beat the rain and their opponents when they secured a four wickets victory at Ingleton, who were all out for 100. More than half the total came from Stuart Dawson batting at number three who contributed 51 while for Rockliffe Park John Pybus claimed five wickets for 42 runs in nine overs and Phil Garbutt four for 36 from the 12.1 overs he delivered.

Replying Rockliffe Park accumulated the necessary runs in 25 overs as Ashley Fiddell hit six boundaries in 35 and Lee Hart contributed 28 with one six and three fours. Ken Gamack had a good day with the ball for Ingleton returning four for 27 in four overs.

Cockerton had 50 runs to spare at Haughton who replied with 132 for nine after the visitors had totalled 182 for three.

Farrow top scored with 61 and Lethbridge ended 50 not out while Tomlin added a useful 35 to the Cockerton total. Wilkinson claimed two of the three wickets to go down for 64 runs.

When they replied Haughton lost early wickets, but opener McGuire scored 22 and Sergeant 21 before Richardson (20) and McCarthy (20n) took the total into three figures.

Glew opened the Cockerton attack and returned five for 52 while Leafe had three for 60.

Witton-le-Wear overtook the Catterick Village total of 126 for four with two wickets remaining. After opener Chrisp had scored 24 Bannister added momentum to the home side's innings scoring 44 batting at number three.

Galley claimed three for 52 and Oselton three for 50 for Catterick Village.

Batting first the visitors made 126 for four as Carter, who opened the innings, batted throughout for an undefeated 38. Oselton top scored with 45 and for Witton-le-Wear Snaith took two wickets for 41 runs.

Play was washed out in the games between Cliffe v Heighington, Middleton St George and Barton and Raby Castle v Barningham.

In division two only two for the four games went ahead. Aldbrough St John defeated Heighington by 66 runs after totalling 135 for four. Rory Wood hit nine boundaries in 62 and Joe Murphy had four fours out of 29 while for Heighington John Overfield sent down 15 overs claiming three wickets for 70 runs.

When they went into bat Heighington ended with 69 for seven as Murphy completed a good game by taking five wickets for 25 runs in 15 overs, five of which were maidens.

Spennithorne and Harmby defeated Brompton-on-Swale by one wicket following a low scoring game. Batting first Brompton made just 72 for nine as Walker returned the magnificent figures of seven wickets for 14 runs.

When they went into bat Spennithorne and Harmby also found run making difficult but edged home with their last pair at the wickets. Leyburn almost snatched victory for Brompton taking five for 26 while Nicholson and Felstead both took a couple of wickets.

The following games were cancelled without a ball being bowled: Middleton-in-Teesdale v Eryholme; Lands v Dales; Middleton Tyas v East Cowton; Rockliffe Park v Trimdon CCA.

In Division C only one fixture was played and Spennymoor defeated Aldbrough St John convincingly. Hodgson contributed 50 to the Spennymoor total of 142 for four before Aldbrough St John were restricted to 86 for six.
