TWO lorry drivers are gearing up for a gruelling charity challenge next weekend.
Nigel Roe, 38, of Langley Moor, near Durham City, and Andrew Stock, 26, of Spennymoor, County Durham, are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge.
The pair, both chemical tanker drivers for haulage firm Stillers Transport, which is based on the Preston Farm industrial estate in Stockton, Tesside, hope to raise more than £500 for the Premature Baby Unit at the University Hospital of North Tees, Stockton.
They will have to conquer Ben Nevis, Mount Snowdon and Sca Fell - the highest points in Scotland, Wales, and England - all within 24 hours.
They will set off on Friday, supported by drivers Steve Walton and Shaun Jeff, who also work at Stillers.
The pair have got the fundraising bug and are planning another feat of endurance for next year - running the Coast to Coast (C2C) cycleway, from Cumbria to Tyneside, in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance.
