A BURGLAR was jailed yesterday after he was trapped by his trainers.
John Thomas, 20, was arrested six months after committing a night time house burglary when police searched his home and seized his trainers.
The soles matched the prints left behind at a break-in at St Paul's Road, Thornaby, Shaun Dodds, prosecuting, told Teesside Crown Court.
Thomas of Mansfield Avenue, Thornaby, said he could not remember the incident but pleaded guilty to the burglary last December. He was sent to a young offenders' institution for two and a half years.
