PEOPLE who want to influence the way services are provided for disabled people in east Cleveland are invited to a monthly meeting.
The Redcar and Cleveland Disability Access Group, which aims to gain better access for all people, meets on the first Friday of every month in the Conference Room, Redcar Central Library, Coatham Road, Redcar at 2pm.
The group has close links with the local council, social services, and the NHS, whose representatives regularly attend the meetings.
Members fought to establish the Shopmobility service in Redcar and are still involved in the development of the service in the area.
Guests often speak at the meetings, informing members about issues affecting residents in the area on subjects including pensions, allowances and access.
