A SCULPTURE made from shopping trolleys is on display at a North-East attraction.
The 15ft piece, in the shape of a DNA double helix, is on show at the Life Science Centre, Newcastle.
It was created by British artist Abigail Fallis.
Commissioned by the Somerfield group and its charity of the year, the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, it aims to raise awareness of muscular dystrophy, the muscle-wasting condition.
Newcastle Muscle Centre, based at the Life centre, is part of a consortium that was recently given £1.6m to carry out research into muscular dystrophy.
Professor Kate Bushby, from the centre, said: "This is such a fun sculpture and it is great that it is here at the Life Science Centre helping to raise awareness of the condition.
