A COUNCILLOR has been nominated as a representative for the Cleveland Police Authority.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's Labour leader Councillor George Dunning, said he was delighted that the Labour group had accepted his proposal to nominate Councillor David McLuckie to the police authority.
Coun Dunning, a long-term friend and colleague of Coun McLuckie, said: "Coun David McLuckie will be an excellent Police Authority representative.
"If it was not for the loss of Labour's overall majority in the 2003 local elections, Councillor McLuckie would have still been on the police authority, and should certainly be considered for the vacant police authority chair at the forthcoming police authority annual meeting."
