ANDY WHITE nailed his colours to the mast with a match winning batting display that proved too much for West End in the First Division.

Red-hot White was unbeaten on 65 as he steered Aidan House to what was a match winning total of 149-3 as he gained excellent support from Graham Dakers (46) and Gavin Brown (22).

Gavin Brown and White were not finished there as they claimed 3-23 and 2-27 respectively from their four over spells and Malcolm Brown yielded just three runs from his four overs and picked up two wickets into the bargain as outplayed West End were left well adrift on 82-8.

In Division Two, Trevor Mavin 33 top scored for Adders in a six wickets win over Monkseaton Saints who were dismissed for 95 with Lalith taking 4-19.

Fenham CC were in free-scoring form as they hit 131-3 against Aletasters with Tariq Hussian 45 not out before restricting their opponents for 91.

There was an excellent Fourth Division clash between Civil Service and Cookson's Old Boys.

The Civil Service made 158-5 due mainly to Mike Horrocks (37), Steve Johns (26) and an unbeaten 24 from Don Marshal.

Gallant Cookson's then managed 138-3 with Jamie Clough top scoring with 44 and well supported by Colin Crowe 27 Paul Laidler 26 while Saeed Ahmed's bolwing proved crucial as he took 3-30.

The Readers Durham County League U15s

Aston Anderson and John Grieveson were both in outstanding form for Mainsforth in their home fixture with Etherley. Anderson struck seven boundaries in 58 and Grieveson had six fours out of 44 as the pair led Mainsforth to a match-winning 110 for six in just 20 overs. Grieveson then completed a superb man of the match performance claiming five wickets for only eight runs in five overs as Etherley were all out for 45. Brandon had 20 runs in hand of Ushaw Moor after totalling 104 for seven from their 20 overs. Ian Hyde top scored with 30 which included a couple of boundaries and Wilkes added a useful, unbeaten 22. Richard Etherington had two for 26 and Stephen Storey two for 36, the two youngsters each bowling five overs in the home attack.

When Ushaw Moor replied they managed only 84 for five which included 34 not out with five boundaries by Jordan Curry. Tom Orton claimed two wickets for 11 runs in five overs and Green had two for ten from two overs.

Evenwood defeated Shildon by ten wickets when Ryan Nicholson produced a man of the match performance. When Shildon made first use of the wicket and ended with 92 for nine on the board, Nicholson claimed four of the wickets for 18 runs in five overs. He was ably assisted in the attack by Michael Robinson who returned three for 25, also in a five overs spell. Daniel Jeffrey struck form with the bat for Shildon hitting one six and four boundaries in 40 and Kieron Thompson added 20 with four boundaries. Nicholson then took over with the bat for Evenwood and his unbeaten 40 included five fours while his opening partner Lee Forster was also among the runs finishing with 31 not out.

Langley Park overtook the Esh Winning total of 71 with six wickets remaining as Kate Brennan scored 24 and Winn 23.
