Foster's Cleveland League: The weather again wreaked havoc and in division one only one second innings was started. Norton were ten for the loss of two wickets replying to The Merlin total of 126 compiled in 37 overs. Geoff Burdon top scored with 56 and Paul Tweedy contributed 25 for The Merlin, while in the Norton attack Skirving had four for 54 in 19 overs, seven of which were maidens and Rigg captured four wickets for 22 runs in an economical four overs spell which also included seven maidens.

Ormesby Hall were 175 for five declared, but Moorsholm were unable to start their reply. Wilkinson opened the Ormesby Hall innings scoring 72 and Leach was also in form adding 31, while for Moorsholm, Ward took two for 40 and Dawson two for 28.

Staithes posted 46 without loss in their home match with Boosbeck which was soon abandoned. Allen was unbeaten on 22 and Thornton 18 not out.

The games between Dormans and Hinderwell and Loftus v Paragonians were both washed out without a ball being bowled.

More play was possible in division two but no match went the full distance. Brotton occupied the wicket for 41 overs making 157 all out which included 70 by opener Ian Ridley with one six and ten boundaries. Neil Broughton contributed 24 with three sixes and for Cowpen Bewley Chris Atkinson had three for 20 in 7.5 overs and Stuart Laing returned three for 35 from the six overs he sent down.

Loftus B ended with 134 for nine from 42 overs at Hartlepool RFC. Shaw top performed making 51 with two sixes and two boundaries and for Hartlepool Ray Hann claimed three wickets for 34 runs in 11 overs, Peter Campbell three for 19 from the 7.2 overs he sent down and Liam Prosser two for 28 in 11 overs, four of which were maidens.

New Marske were 139 for nine at Skelton Castle when their game was called off. Lighting was undefeated on 66 and for Skelton Castle Stubbs claimed four wickets for 37 runs and Himsworth two for 31.

Dormanstown managed only 79 all out but Normanby Parklands A replied with 49 for two before the match ended as a draw. Moon with 35 was the top performer in the Dormanstown innings and for Parklands, Fox took three of the wickets for 19 runs.

In reply Parklands were in a good position with Asif unbeaten on 24.

Normanby Parklands B were sent back with just 56 runs on the board when Roberts took five wickets for 18 runs, Poole two for 15 and Pelling three for eight, but with Ormesby Hall B on 11 for the loss of three wickets the weather closed in and a halt had to be made.
