DURHAM might suddenly have an embarrassment of riches for their final Twenty20 Cup game at home to Yorkshire next Thursday.

England have decided to make Stephen Harmison available for that match, while it will be the first chance to see temporary overseas signing Andy Blignaut in action.

A delay in securing the Zimbabwean's visa means he will not arrive until Wednesday, and having gone to the trouble of bringing him over for a month Durham are not going to leave him on the sidelines. So where does that leave the world's best fast bowler, who Durham had written out of their season?

"I'd rather have a selection dilemma than be short of players," said coach Martyn Moxon. "But if we continue to bowl and field as well as we did in Wednesday's win at Leicester it might not be worth bringing in Harmison for one Twenty20 game. We'll have to see how things go.

"I asked the England management if Steve and Paul Collingwood could play in our home totesport League matches on the next two Sundays.

"They are potentially massive games against Yorkshire and Middlesex, but they won't let Paul play until he has recovered from his knee injury. That might be this Sunday, but it's far from certain."

Harmison can play against Middlesex on July 18 and his presence might put a few on the gate for what is skipper Jon Lewis's benefit match.

After that the paceman will be teaming up with England again for the four-Test series against the West Indies.

After one win and one defeat on their travels, Durham have three home games left in the Twenty20 and the Yorkshire match has joined tonight's visit of Lancashire in selling out. There are still a few tickets left for Tuesday's game against Derbyshire.

Prospects of play tonight are not good, and Moxon said: "It would be a great shame if the match was washed out as it's a sell-out and it's nicely set up after our win at Grace Road."

As Leicestershire beat Lancashire the group is wide open, but the Red Rose men will be keen to bounce back from their recent troubles now that Carl Hooper is fit again.

The West Indian's off spin might look innocuous, but he was one of the most successful bowlers in the competition last season, with an economy rate of 5.27. He took four for 18 in four overs as Durham lost by four runs at Old Trafford.

Durham will be unchanged tonight and are still hoping that Marcus North will be fit for Sunday.
