Viewforth, who is back on a fair mark and has shaped as though coming to hand on his last two starts, looks the one to be on in the totexacta Stakes Handicap over five furlongs.

Jim Goldie has his team in good shape and the gelding has shown that he retains plenty of ability on his limited amount of starts to date for his current handler.

He ran well at Haydock on his penultimate start after stumbing soon after the stalls opened and was anything but disgraced at Musselburgh on fast ground last time at a course that placed too much of an emphasis on speed.

The return to this track should suit and he'll get a good tow from Maktavish, who is drawn next to him in stall nine.

His useful apprentice removes a further 3lb from his load and he's sure to give a good account.

Goldie can also be on the mark with Kid'z'play, who would be a very appropriate winner in the race of his own name over a mile and a quarter at 3.45pm.

The eight-year-old showed the right attitude to outbattle Opening Ceremony over this course and distance on his penultimate start and the runner-up franked that form when successful last weekend.

He should be allowed an easy lead a big advantage at this course and he's taken to get the better of the in-form Bailieborough and Mick Channon's Charlie Tango.

Goldie has claims with Musiotal in the Scottish Racing Handicap over seven furlongs but slight preference is for Mark Wallace's Half A Handful. The three-year-old looked appropriately named when hanging at Catterick last week but he is an improved performer of late and he'll be very well suited by the step up to this trip for the first time.

That's backed up by his pedigree and he's from a stable that is among the winners of late.

He's still relatively unexposed and is fancied to get off the mark at the seventh attempt.

Another Bottle should be popular in the Dawn Group Classified Stakes over a mile but a potentially messy race wouldn't be in his favour and, at likely short odds, he's passed over in favour of Brief Goodbye.

John Berry's four-year-old, unbeaten in two starts under today's rider Micky Fenton, turned in his best effort yet when making all at Newbury and he's another that may be able to do his own thing in front.

On the all-weather at Southwell Sir Mark Prescott could be the trainer to follow and he's fancied to notch a double with Masafi in the Josiah Wedgewood Handicap over a mile and with newcomer Comic Strip in the six furlong maiden.

Masafi showed improved form when just touched off at Lingfield on his reappearance this year and should have no problems with this surface. He's one of the few in this race open to any improvement.

At Windsor, Jonny Ebeneezer takes the eye from a favourable high draw in the ladbrokes.com Handicap over five furlongs.

Following a fluent win on fibresand last week he floundered under his penalty on much softer ground (and was drawn on the wrong side) at Nottingham on Saturday but should be seen to better effect on this quicker ground.
