MEMBERS from ex-service associations are joining forces following the success of a town's 60th anniversary D-Day event.
Officials and members of associations, from as far afield as Loftus, Middlesbrough and Stokesley, are being invited to join a new group, the Redcar and District Council of Ex-Service Associations.
The group is expected to meet quarterly and the first meeting will be in the Coatham Road Social Club, Redcar at 2pm on Wednesday.
Eric Howden, honorary branch secretary of the Royal British Legion in Redcar, said: "The D-Day event was found to be a great success with no one association having to shoulder all the work.
"Hopefully we will be able to work together and help the other associations in any planning for the future."
