FLORISTRY students are celebrating after achieving a national award for their displays.
The students, from Askham Bryan College, Guisborough, achieved the National Certificate in Floristry Level 2, making them professionally qualified florists.
As part of a two-year course, they arranged wall hangings for SureStart's summer celebrations on the theme of Asia, Africa, Americas and Europe, which are now on permanent display at the Guisborough college.
The floristry department at the college is expanding to include Advanced National Certificate in Floristry and NVQ Level 3.
The centre, currently the only provider of professional Floristry Qualifications in the area, already teaches the National Certificate in Floristry and NVQ level 2.
Enrolment day for the next academic year is September 2. It is possible to enrol before that date to ensure a place.
