RURAL communities in the North York Moors National Park are being urged to use a fund that has aided projects in the area by almost £2.4m.
The Sustainable Development Fund (SDF) was launched by Rural Affairs Minister Alun Michael in the park in November 2002.
Since then, several large projects have been aided, bringing social, environmental and economic benefits to the park.
Project officer Rachel Wood said: "Sustainable development is about ensuring a better quality of life for everyone now and for future generations.."
The fund has given money to several projects, including £40,000 towards the cost of a new £600,000 village hall at Hinderwell, and £35,000 towards a £170,000 scheme to refurbish Lockton youth hostel to enable it to become an eco hostel.
