DARLINGTON manager David Hodgson has no fears about continuing his search for a new striker with the influx of more trialists.

Hodgson has used nine forwards - including seven trialists - since Quakers began their pre-season preparations at Whitby last week.

With Craig Russell and Leandro Scartascini the only front men on Quakers' books, Hodgson must bolster his options.

Quakers meet Blackpool at the New Stadium tomorrow, with several trialists on show, including Argentinean Sebastien Ferrero, who was on the target in the 1-0 win over Bradford on Wednesday.

Portuguese duo Joaquim Ferraz and Vitor Viera have yet to impress, while Hodgson will be keen to take another look at Dutch striker Chima Onyeike.

"I have no problem with taking a look at them," said Hodgson. "We know what kind of budget we have to work in. We're not a position to go out and buy players."

Accommodation and flight costs for the trialists are being covered by the fans' TASK fund.

Hodgson also revealed his interest in signing Michael Reddy, before the Sunderland striker joined Grimsby on a free transfer.

Despite taking a substantial pay cut to join the Mariners, Hodgson admitted the club was still in no position to compete for Reddy's signature.

Defender Alan Harrison is facing up to five months on the sidelines after breaking his leg in Wednesday night's friendly with Bradford City. The 19-year-old sustained a double break after an accidental clash with teammate Joe Kendrick.

Harrison has been on trial with the club after being freed by Middlesbrough last season.
