BUILDERS have started work on a £2.1m office extension at North Yorkshire Police headquarters.
Once complete, the 1,700sqm three storey building at Newby Wiske, near Northallerton, will accommodate about 200 staff.
They will be relocated from the site in Racecourse Lane, in Northallerton, when the 40-week scheme is complete.
Chief Constable Della Cannings said: "Centralisation of HQ departments will improve our efficiency forcewide."
