AN opticians is to open in Newton Aycliffe town centre next week, creating five jobs.
Specsavers Opticians, in Beveridge Way, will open at 1pm on Monday, providing the latest in optical equipment and a wide range of frames.
The store will be run by directors Sean Hayes, Tim Mitchison and Fiona Curtis, who have all had several years of experience at stores in the region.
In addition to two testing rooms and a dedicated contact lens centre, the store also has full disabled access.
The team will be holding an opening celebration event, on Saturday, August 14, which will include an 8ft inflatable dinosaur, celebratory cake and bucks fizz.
