A CONSTRUCTION worker has become the first in the region to achieve a training qualification in drilling and sawing.
As well as breaking new ground with his NVQ, Rob Smith, 31, from Boldon Colliery, South Tyneside, has also achieved his construction skills certificate with his employer, Diamond Drilling and Cutting, of Jarrow.
The company recently became a recognised NVQ assessment centre.
