WOMEN will be given a treat when Sadie the Bra Lady attends a health night to give advice and an account of her life.

The event is co-ordinated by the health-visiting team at St Andrew's Medical Practice, Spennymoor, County Durham, on Tuesday, from 7pm.

Several stands will offer advice focusing on women's issues and promoting health awareness.

Sadie, from Consett, County Durham, is well-known across the region.

Customers from all over the country visit her stores to be fitted discreetly and professionally.

Wearing an ill-fitting bra can cause neck and backache in women, and statistics show that 80 per cent of women are wearing the wrong bra.

The health-visiting team with Sedgefield Primary Care Trust (PCT) is working alongside the practice nursing team to provide a preventative approach to women's health.

Health visitor Hilary Earl said: "The aim of the event is to offer support and advice to women who want help in any areas surrounding women's health, such as breast awareness, smoking cessation, cervical and breast screening, osteoporosis and post-natal depression."
