A FUN day for residents in a former pit village takes place next month.
Annfield Plain Community Partnership is holding a summer fair in the field behind the Clavering Youth Club in Annfield Plain, near Stanley, on Saturday, September 11, from midday to 4pm. More than 400 people are expected.
There will be a cash draw for £100, a five-a-side football competition, displays of martial arts and falconry, and a tombola. For youngsters, there will be supervised mini-quad bike rides, free face painting and goodie bags, a coconut shy and bouncy castle.
Admission is free.
