POLICE set up a mobile investigation unit on Wolsingham recreation ground yesterday after reports that a teenage girl had been assaulted at the weekend.
The girl needed hospital treatment for a foot injury after an alleged incident on Saturday night and was to be questioned yesterday.
A police spokesman said: "The incident, which was not reported to the police initially, left the girl needing hospital treatment, but fortunately she is not badly hurt. Officers will be speaking to her again to obtain more details of what happened."
