MATTY Robson admitted he thought he had blown his chance of creating the equaliser on Saturday.

The left back swung over a cross from the left which led to the goal, but he admitted he didn't expect to see the ball ending up in the back of the net.

Robson, voted the sponsors' man of the match in his second start of the week, admitted: "I thought it was going out when I put the ball over.

"Someone from the crowd shouted it was in, so I turned back round and saw it coming back across. Then Boydy headed it in and we were level.

"I put the ball over into a good area and the goal came from it, so I can be pleased with my part in the goal."

Robson made 17 starts last season, his first involvement in the first team, but has been forced on the sidelines after the arrival of Hugh Robertson.

But the Scot's foot injury opened the door for the 19-year-old youth team product and he admitted: "It's been frustrating at times for me to be out, but it's part of the game.

"Obviously, it's not nice being out of the picture, but all I can do is work hard in training and it's paid off for me.

"I was quite pleased with my game on Saturday and helped with the goal.

"It was very disappointing to go one goal down, but the mentality we have got here helped us come back.

"We all chip in and are in it together - it helps us no end."
