AN arts venue has announced its latest line-up of events.

The Shed, based in Brawby, near Malton, North Yorkshire will begin its autumn season on October 15 when Jim Diamond and Snake Davis perform at Hovingham Village Hall.

A more unusual performance will take place in a touring skip on Tuesday, November 2.

Saxophonist Lol Coxhill will perform in the skip in Brawby at 10.30am and market places in Malton at noon, Pickering at 2pm, Kirkbymoorside at 3.30pm and Helmsley at 4.30pm.

The Shed founder, Simon Thackray said: "The idea came from having skipped down a hill. Lol Coxhill has an extensive track record from contemporary jazz to rock, but it's free improvisation he is really renowned for.

"The event is a mixture of an alternative venue space and a renowned master of improvisation. Events will unfold as the day goes on, but I hope people won't throw rubbish in the skip with Lol."
