AN annual leek show saw a splendid range of entries on Saturday.
Open entry categories and the presence of many experienced gardeners ensured a good showing at the Royal British Legion show in Newton Aycliffe.
The main prizes were awarded as follows: Best pair of leeks - D Spooner, 138.98 cubic inches; Potted leeks, 1 D Spooner, 138.98 cubic inches; 2 D Hudson, 120.88 cubic inches; 3 A Milburn, 138.410 cubic inches; Long leeks - W Little, 171.25 cubic inches; Intermediate - D Hudson, 110.92 cubic inches; Most improved - D Hudson; Most points in leek section by a member - D Hudson; Most points in vegetable section by member - D Percival; Most points in flower section - D Spooner; Most points for button hole on a Sunday morning - T Cox.
