TWO young sports fans will lead the teams out at an international football match this evening.

Rebecca Morrell, from Barnard Castle, and Christopher Storey, from Bishop Auckland, both County Durham, won a competition to be flag bearers at the England v Wales Under-21 match at Ewood Park, Blackburn.

The two year nine pupils at Staindrop Comprehensive School, County Durham, will carry the Fifa Fairplay flags after their school won a competition.

The school also won 100 free tickets to the match. Year nine pupils and their parents will be taking coaches from the school to cheer on the teams.

Head of PE Caroline Slane said: "The pupils are all very excited aboutit. I chose Rebecca and Christopher for their enthusiasm and commitment to sports in the school.

"They are both very mature and have represented the school at several different sports."
