THE head of catering at Darlington Memorial Hospital is in the running for a top award.
Ron McKenzie is a finalist in the best dinner lady category in the BBC Radio 4 Food and Farming Awards.
He faces Ian Woodhouse, of Stoke, and Anne Brody, of Newcastle's George Stephenson High School. Winners will be announced on November 23 in an event broadcast on Radio 4's The Food Programme.
