HQ move a sign of success for security specialists

Stockton-based security company Combined Security North East recently bought a building on the Cowpen Lane Industrial Estate in Billingham as part of plans for specialised in-house training and to house extra staff taken on following the growth of the business.

Specialised training is also needed due to Government legislation being introduced next year for the security industry.

Operations manager Ian Robinson said: "We needed significantly more space to accommodate the additional personnel and equipment required to support our continued rapid growth.

"Acquiring Macklin House also provides further stability, strength and long-term financial security to the business.

"It will also provide the additional space needed to accommmodate our expanding in-house training facility.

"This will be used to provide the specific training that will be needed by those people working in the UK security industry when compulsory licensing is introduced in 2005 through the Security Industry Authority.

"The industry is moving rapidly to greater regulation, which we warmly welcome. As an organisation that is committed to the maintenance of standards through training, we are now fully resourced to ensure our continued compliance with industry regulations and codes of practice."

Combined Security North East Limited offers a range of security services to businesses throughout the region.

These include the provision of security guards and other staff to carry out a range of security tasks, including concierge, manned guarding, mobile patrols, key holding and alarm response.

The company has recently been granted Inspected Membership of the International Professional Security Association (IPSA) - the oldest established security association in the UK.
