A FIVE-MONTH-OLD puppy is looking for a home after being taken into foster care.

Cross-breed Meika was taken to The National Animal Sanctuary's Support League, at Sadberge, near Darlington, after her family was unable to cope due to their house being too small and a new baby.

She is now living with Ruth Blundell and her family in Eaglescliffe, near Stockton, while waiting for a permanent home.

Mrs Blundell said: "She is such a cutie and adores children and other pets. She is the perfect pet and is very sociable."

Meika will grow no larger than a border collie and it is hoped she can be housed with a family who can take her out on walks and spend a lot of time with her.

Pauline Wilson, from the sanctuary said: "She is quite bouncy and such a pretty little thing.

"She adores spending time with families and we are hoping to rehouse her soon."

Anybody who would like to offer a home to Meika can contact Mrs Wilson on (01325) 321855 or Mrs Blundell on (01642) 351818.
